Trust Issues: Why you struggle with trusting GOD truly, fully, at all times

Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord."Jeremiah 17:5Trusting GOD is a process of broken-ness, meaning letting go of all your ways, opinions, intellect, plans, goals, dreams to allow HIM to lead you with HIS plan. No wonder the Bible says HIS ways are higher than our ways. Yet again it says eye has not seen nor ear heard nor has it entered the hearts of men what GOD has in store for those who love HIM. Next it says “But HE has revealed it to us through HIS Spirit.”Trusting GOD is training in quiet listening. HE reveals HIS ways through HIS Spirit; meaning revelation is spiritually received and understood. Trusting GOD is asking HIS direction every step of the way not out of obligation, but out of your love and submission to HIM. It’s like if you were a company driver and your boss needed you to drive him somewhere, you would not begin the journey without asking for his directions (including his preferred route there). Trusting GOD is humility in acknowledging how helpless and powerless you are in the face of the Creator of the universe, acknowledging that without HIM you can do nothing.Trusting GOD is obeying HIS Word. It’s one thing to know what to do and another to actually do what is required, the right way, every time, without grumbling, murmuring or half-heartedness. On the other hand, cursed is the man who trusts in man, who makes flesh his confidence, and whose heart is turned away from GOD (Jeremiah 17:5-6)We always intend to trust in GOD and our morning prayers reflect a complete resolve to surrender to HIS leading, but at what point during the day do we cast off all restraint and jump in head first into the murky waters of life in a bid to ‘do it yourself? What are these waves that blow us away from the safety of the arms of a loving Father into the arms of this wicked, vicious, unforgiving world?Why are we always seeking to do things by our strength when we have a Father who is all-powerful? Why are we stressed, tired and disillusioned yet claiming to be children of GOD?What makes us leave GOD at the fork in the road and take off in the direction opposite to the one HE would have us take?
